    About the Author

    J. R. Beaumont is a freelance author; he was born in southern England shortly after the end of WW2. His natural childhood interest in science not only led him into a career involving electronics but also into a love of SF Books from all eras. After emigrating to the Algarve region of Portugal during the nineteen-eighties, he worked as an electronic engineer on solar and wind-powered energy systems.

But before too long, he decided to move away from the tourist areas up into the mountains overlooking the Algarve. There, in the countryside, his career changed direction entirely, away from electronics and into renovating farmhouses and ostrich breeding. And in the quiet evenings, during this period of his life, he began his writing career by writing first a biography, then with several short stories.

He moved back across Europe in 2009 to where he now lives in the village of Zwijndrecht near Antwerp. Which is where, he wrote his first full-length science-fiction novel, ‘Mind Game set and Match.’ before embarking on the Year Series, books that you can see here.
